The virtual images generated for helmet mounted displays and head-up displays are reflected by beam splitters to the eyes of a user. The influence of the beam splitters, with and without images reflected, on the accommodation responses of observers was measured utilizing an eyetracker which continuosly monitored the accommodation response.
